August Club Meeting

Please join us Friday, August 14th at 5:30 PM for an old fashioned Summer Family Picnic and Pool Party including:

        Hamburgers and Hot Dogs off the grill

        Home grown Tomatoes and Corn On the Cob

        Watermelon, Apple Pie and Ice Cream

        Beverages

   

Just bring an appetizer, or a side dish, or a dessert.  See you there!  Business meeting to include a bylaws vote and many updates.

2009 York River Yacht Club Cruise Calendar

Closely following last year's successful schedule, the 2009 YRYC Cruise Calendar is attached.  It is a work in progress and needs input from you, our members.  Let me know when and where you want to go!  Remember, it only takes two boats to start a cruise.  Mention it out loud, and others will say "That sounds good, I'm coming too!"  Last year, we had great participation from sailors and powerboaters alike, and I'm sure that will continue.  And don't forget that, even without a boat, you can join the fun by driving to some of the destinations, namely Deltaville, Yankee Point and Cape Charles.  If you are new to cruising (as we all were at one time), and would like some mentoring to get started, please get in touch.  There is no finer way to spend a weekend, a week, or longer than cruising with your friends.

 

Save your vacation days for something really important:  Cruising!

2009 Blessing of the Fleet FESTIVAL

To kick off the 2009 boating season, a two-day festival sponsored by the York River Yacht Club and Crown Pointe Marina will feature music and entertainment by Bob Zentz, a burning of the socks event, a blessing of the fleet, a Friday night cookout, decorated boat contest with cash prizes, radio controlled boat competition, and more. Open to all boaters, watermen, and those with an interest in the sea!  For more information and to register, download the information below.
