2010 York River Cup

The 2010 York River Cup is scheduled for Saturday September 18th with a 12:30 PM rendezvous in the vicinity of York River R"22".  This CBYRA sanctioned regatta has two planned races.  Entries are due by September 16th.  A post regatta social is planned for 1700 with dinner following at 1800.  Complete details can be found in the sailing instructions.

2010 Labor Day Weekend Cruise to Virginia's Eastern Shore

Don't forget about the Labor Day cruise.

Be sure to contact Back Creek Marina (757-331-8640) to confirm your slip and let the Cruise Captain know if you are going.  Saturday night we will each bring an hors d'œuvre for the group.  Sunday night Dave has made reservations at the restaurant on the marina grounds.

2010 Admiral Cup Results

ADMIRAL'S CUP goes to RUMBLE -  Ben Weeks and the crew of Rumble persevered in light air for 11 very  loooooooooong  miles on Saturday to win the annual Admiral's Cup, co-hosted by York River Yacht Club and Seaford Yacht Club.  The dearth of air did not deter the racers from  the party hosted by Seaford Yacht Club.  Results:  Spinnaker (4 boats): 1.Ben Weeks & Michele Cochran, Rumble;  2.Jim Bordeaux, Soltice.   Non-Spin (5 boats): 1.Chuck Eldred, Gail Force; 2.Dave Crossett, Gator.

Along Virginia's Golden Shores - Cape Charles Labor Day Cruise

So we find ourselves again looking at the end of the summer slowly getting closer and asking ourselves, did we do all that we planned? If you are like me, your answer is always "no".  But wait, there is still time to set your GPS for Cape Charles this Labor Day weekend and join the rest of the club at Bay Creek Marina. This is the club's annual end-of-the-summer cruise and is one of the best. We don't cook or do anything that requires work; we just relax, eat/drink, and have fun at one of the bay's best marinas. If there is only one cruise you do with the club, this is the one! Larry Davis can answer any questions you may have about the trip. So JUST DO IT - call Bay Creek Marina (757-331-8640) and confirm your reservation.  They are holding 20 slips for our club. So just don't let this year go by without enjoying a trip with your fellow members; lets make this year's Labor Day cruise the largest ever.

August Meeting - Margaritaville here we come!

Date/Time:  August 20th/6:30 p.m.

Enjoy snacks by the pool (weather permitting) and then head into the coolness for the rest of the party!

Menu:  Jerk chicken, Stuffed baked potato, Green salad, Cold marinated summer veggies, Cake with choice of fruit topping

Charge: $10/person (covers all except specialty drink)

Specialty drink: Margarita $2.00

Come and enjoy your boating buddies and sing along with the tunes from Jimmy Buffet and others.
